Wednesday was a full day’s programme. Our first stop was the Kapitulation Museum in Karlhorst, where the Nazis surrendered to the Allied forces

We then drove to the Soviet Memorial cemetery at Treptow, which commemorates 7,000 of the 80,000 Soviet troops who died in the War.

From there we made our way to Alexanderplatz, where there were two markets, separated by a tramway and the S-Bahn.
we then drove through Berlin, looking at the illuminations, before arriving at the botanical gardens, where there was a stunning display and Christmas market. We enjoyed an Austrian meal in a wooden chalet before touring all of the light displays. Back home quite late after a ten-hour day!
