On Sunday morning, we went for a walk around the artificial hill that was created from the rubble of all the houses that were destroyed by bombing during the war.

The walk gave us the appetitie to enjoy Sunday lunch at the nearby Italian restaurant , where the waiter prepared a special tagliatelle dish cooked in a giant cheese skin.

After lunch (and the obligatory post-prandial snooze), we were invited to the Apostolic Church afternoon carol service, which we were told would be followed by some coffee and snacks. We were welcomed warmly, listened to choral works and even sang some German carols, before leaving the church and heading into the marquee at the rear where the “snack” consisted of a full hot buffet and a wonderful selection of cold desserts. Understandably, after our Sunday lunch, we were unable to contemplate the hot buffet, but did sample rather too many of the desserts!
A very enjoyable day concluded with viewing each other’s video memories of past holidays.
