Sunday 31 March
Having been late to bed and lost a summertime hour, we decided that a jacuzzi was in order before breakfast!
After a leisurely breakfast, we met our events coordinator, Gintare, and went
through all the arrangements. The East India room was set up with 3
tables of eight, which allowed for spare chairs to allow circulation.
Peter and Margaret were the first to arrive and we showed them around our
suite and ventured out on the rather windy and cool deck. Ann and Bob
followed soon after, then we received a number of messages from other
guests apologizing for anticipated late arrival due to traffic problems.
The party was soon under way with bubbly and canapés being served as we
waited for the final arrivals. We had taken our wedding album which
proved a nostalgic reminder for those guests who had been with us 50
years ago in New Brighton. You can see some of Simon’s photos below.

Norm was first on his feet to thank us all for being there and that he was
looking forward to the next celebration (in 10 years time!). Adrian and
Peter Walker added their comments, whilst everyone circulated around
until close of play at 4pm, when those with additional time were able to
continue the party in our executive suite.
Fortunately the sun was shining, even if it was rather cold.
After everyone had gone, we chilled out for a while and went for a walk
around the ship before heading into the bar later on for some tapas.
WhatsApp updates were received from the guests as they returned home by
car and train.
All in all a memorable day in an unique location.
